Kherrata Tunnels Modernization Project Has Begun

As Özgün İnşaat, we have officially begun the Kherrata Tunnels Modernization Project, located on the strategic RN09 road between the Bejaia and Sétif provinces of Algeria. Built in 1985 with a total length of 6,264 meters, these tunnels will be upgraded to current modern standards and redesigned in line with European norms.

The primary aim of our project is to strengthen the region's transportation infrastructure and make the tunnels safer.

Under the tender we won in August 2024, tunnel sections totaling 3,105 meters will be modernized in the first phase — the T1 tunnel (1,500 meters), the southern section of the T2 tunnel (1,195 meters), and the approach tunnel (410 meters).
