Özgün İnşaat Renews the Kherrata Tunnels on the RN09 Road!

We have won first place in the tender for the modernization of the strategically important Kherrata tunnels, located on the RN09 road connecting the provinces of Bejaia and Setif. Completed in 1985, these tunnels will be redesigned to European standards, taking today's traffic density into account, and modernized to include electro-mechanical works.

As of July 4, 2024, the employer has issued the Order to Commence Services (ODS), and the project is planned to be completed within 16 months. The Kherrata Tunnels total 6.2 km in length; the first phase covers a renewal tender for 3.1 km of that length. This important project will be carried out by Özgün İnşaat and our local partner Sarl Mediterraneene Megrous. The tender for the second phase, covering the remaining 3.1 km, is on the employer's agenda.
